Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” may have passed over but there are indications MJ looked at Susan Boyle as the Queen of Pop. Shortly before his recent death, he had sent Susan Boyle flowers and a message that read “Jesus was persecuted too”. I think with all the media attention Susan Boyle had been receiving, Michael wanted to reach out to a fellow high profile performer and let her know it comes with the territory and the greatest are always bothered by the media. He identified with her and wanted to let her know not to worry.

With Michael Jackson passing, the world will be looking for a new voice to remind them of a simpler time and to take their minds off the world’s financial crisis.

Susan Boyle In the Hospital

by ash on June 1, 2009

After having a temper tantrum at a nearby hotel due to all the publicity from the media and the pressure to perform well while continuing to maintain a normal life. Its reported that Susan Boyle had a mental breakdown. We will report more here once we get new information.

I think the reason why Susan Boyle lost the final of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) was because she chose to do the same song, I dreamed a dream from Les Miserable, she used in the try outs. I’m not sure why she chose the same song, but I can only guess its because of limitations of her vocal range to nail a new song on short notice. Unfortunately, while the show stage was more pristine and she had more makeup, she didn’t deliver the way she did in the try outs. I think the global media attention she has received finally took a toll on her. Although the judges said this performance was better than the first, I disagree and still say her first performance was much better. I think the pressure from media hounding her and beating down her door, calling her names, finally got to her.

I haven’t seen Cats but after seeing this beautiful performance by Susan Boyle, its on my list of shows to see. This was an absolutely brilliant and heartfelt performance. My favorite part of the song was between 2:32 and 2:45. Share your thoughts on her performance here in the comments.

Since Susan Boyle has said that Elaine Paige is her inspiration for building a singing a career, I thought it would be interesting to hear from the readers of the susanboylevideos.net blog about who they think sings the “I dreamed a dream” song better. Leave your comments about who is better. I will pick a random commenter after one week of the publishing of this post and send you $25 via Paypal.

Susan Boyle Singing Video From 1995

by admin on May 10, 2009

Remember when you were between 12-15 years old how you weren’t cute like you were in when you were 9 and you weren’t hot like the older kids? They call those years the ugly years. Eventhough, Susan Boyle was 34 years old in 1995, she was in her “ugly years”. It seems Susan Boyle went backwards with her fashion sense after viewing this video. If you’ve seen the video of Susan Boyle singing in 1984 then you know that her fashion took a turn for the worse in the 1990’s. The outfit she is wearing in this video is hideous. The video is not the greatest quality (for gods sake this is 1995 so don’t bitch) but its unmistakeably Susan Boyle voice we can clearly hear. Its a bit of a comedy act that Susan is participating in, but her talent is undeniable. Why no one “discovered” her earlier is baffling.

Susan Turns Down Date with Barack Obama

by admin on May 10, 2009

Perhaps an opportunity to get her first kiss, Susan Boyle turned down an invitation from Barack Obama to attend this weekends White House Correspondents Dinner. This was a star studded event with everyone from Amanda Sykes to Ashton Kutcher and his, lovely but old, wife, Demi Moore. It seems only fitting that a global phenomenon like Susan Boyle who has the most viewed videos ever on Youtube would attend such an event. Alas, Susan Boyle turned down President Obama because her nerves got the best of her. Concerned about being in the presence of such a powerful man and worse performing a song for him, scared poor Susan so much that she decided to stay home instead of take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity at the White House. I guess Oprah is not as frightening as Barack Obama is to Susan Boyle. Susan is scheduled to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show on Monday May 11th, 2009.

Larry King Interviews Susan Boyle

by admin on May 10, 2009

Larry King has Susan Boyle on his show via Satellite and is asked out on a date on the air by Piers Morgan, one of the judges of Britain’s Got Talent. Susan Boyle also sings her own rendition of Celine Dion’s song “My Heart Will Go On” live on the air without any musical backing. The performance was not nearly as breathtaking as the performance of “I Dream the Dream” that she performed on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ but Piers Morgan was quick to jump in about how difficult a song this is to sing. No is questioning whether this woman can sing because she’s already proven to Britain and now to the world that she has the vocal chops to sing with the best. Her biggest charm in addition to her amazing voice, is the fact that Susan Boyle is the underdog. She is what all of us root for in life because we’ve all felt like the underdog at some point in our lives and know how it feels to be on top (even if its for a brief period of time). Its the most rewarding feeling in the world.
